Casiotron 03-506 UNUSED!

A pristine example of the flagship of Casio’s first generation of watches, the fancy one had a tiny light bulb, which would have been considered rather high tech in 1974. Half a century old and in as-new condition, this is a stunning piece from a time when all of Casio’s watches were high-end; Tissot for one offering re-branded Casios! Inside the stainless steel screwback case resides a double-decker hand-soldered ceramic PCB assembly employing many tiny screws, bearing about as much resemblance to a modern digital watch module as ENIAC does to a PC. Behind the gold-badged jade faceplate sits an LCD in perfect condition, boasting red ‘Sun’ and ‘PM’ markers which haven’t faded into oblivion unlike the vast majority of these. The finely-articulated bracelet is a marvel to behold. At 99g, this is an ostentatious beast of a watch.
