This is the JDM version of this crazy IR game watch, with TV/VCR remote (sadly no learning function) instead of Magic Beam modes, reviewed here. There’s no manual available for this JDM model, but the manual for the international model is mostly relevant. It seems the original straps on these were subject to disintegration, but an F-91 strap suits it well enough. Anyone capable of coding and PCB design could do a pretty great project with one of these, maybe get a million views on YouTube… with IR send/receive, eleven buttons, and a dual row dot matrix in the LCD, it would be a pretty great basis for some wrist-bound hackery. Plenty of room inside for activities…

Casio anticipated the IR business sucking some juice (this puppy rocks a 2032), and also that the kids smashing through these cells would want to swap them out themselves, so there’s unusually detailed instructions on the sticker inside, and the caseback screws are even made captive with little plastic washers! Makes me wonder why they save such helpful niceties for the kids.
