Casio Batteryless WB-60
This is the original JDM version of the much-loved, reissued and widely counterfeited AL-180. The AL-180 was only ever plated resin, while this bad boy is full stainless steel. It employs a CTL-2016, technically a capacitor, so ‘batteryless’ is indeed pedantically accurate. Although, hilariously, you can remove the cell and it actually works while enough light is falling on it. What a time to be alive! This example has picked up some patina over the last forty years, and came to me minus a bracelet so is fitted with a similarly aged and well-suited but incorrect Casio bracelet, but is nonetheless highly valuable. I may yet replace the polarisers, resurface the crystal and refinish the case, and see about sourcing the proper H-link bracelet… and add $150 to the price. This one is super cool.
