Black Dice Guru BD-044-03
Black Dice was a British fashion watch company, now defunct. This is one of their more sought-after models, released in 2012, featuring a LED matrix which can display a programmable message along with the time. The manual isn’t available, but I found a page where someone had figured out how it works and posted instructions, paraphrased here for posterity. The integrated straps on these were a source of complaints, with the tight fit against the case causing splits in the end of the strap and lug damage in some instances, and the holes in the lugs were too closely spaced to the case to allow aftermarket straps to fit well. On this example, another set of holes has been made in the lugs and a suitable strap fitted. Unfortunately the caseback gasket was missing when purchased, but has been replaced with a couple of layers of double-sided tape to restore some measure of water resistance.
Instructions: There are two buttons; we’ll call the main one A and the recessed one B. Press A once to see the time, or twice to see the date. Long-press A to change display orientation. Setting time, date, and 12/24h is done by pressing B to enter the setting mode and to select the next item to adjust with the A button, but there’s a fairly quick timeout to beat throughout. Press B when done. To change the message, press B while on the date display.
