Casio Phone Dialer DBA-900
This is the perfect watch for an old phreaker, although sadly opportunities to utilise this model’s party trick are limited these days. Featuring a front-mounted speaker, it can play the DTMF ‘Touch-Tone’ sounds corresponding to its databank entries, which the user would hold up to a phone’s microphone in order to dial the number, avoiding the need to enter the number manually. There were cheaper resin models, both in black and silver (plated resin), but this one is metal and glass. The 24h timer has a resolution of one minute, and the alarm, timer and stopwatch modes keep the time displayed on the second line. Higher-pitched beep when returning to the time, which happens immediately if the current mode has been used.
This example is in rather nice condition except for a slight dent in the speaker grille and some minor corrosion around the expired caseback gasket.
